The issue is related to the specifics of the AVG internal logic. As a temporary solution, I suggest you exclude the application folder from AVG scanning. Also you can check a possible solution to this issue suggested on AVG support forums: Access Violation Exception. We have just received word from AVG that it will be resolved in their next update.
